Pastor Michal Kelly
Born in a Christian home to parents Michael and Sharon Kelly in Inglewood, California, Michael B. Kelly, II had the privilege of developing a relationship with God from childhood. After completing primary school, he attended Murrieta Valley High School, where he excelled in football and track. He transferred to La Sierra Academy for his junior and senior years and upon graduating, received a track scholarship to attend Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. It was here that Michael received the call from the Lord to enter pastoral ministry. While at Columbia Union College, he accepted the invitation to serve the student body as Religious Vice President for two years and then as Religious Vice President of the Adventist Inter-Collegiate Association. Following graduation in 2001 with concentrations in Theology and a minor in Psychology, Pastor Kelly entered Andrews University Theological Seminary where he served as Chaplain for the Black Seminary Student Association. He completed the Master of Divinity Degree in 2003.
Pastor Kelly has served as assistant pastor for the Fairfax and Arlington Churches in Virginia.
He has been youth pastor for the Community Praise Center Church in Alexandria Virginia, The Mt. Rubidoux SDA church in Riverside California and the Highland SDA church in Benton Harbor Michigan.
Pastor Kelly has also served as the senior pastor for the Palace of Peace Church in Colorado Springs and the Claremont Seventh day Adventist Church in Pueblo, Colorado as well as the Allon Chapel Seventh day Adventist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. While in Nebraska he also served as adjunct professor of the course Christian Ethics at Union College. Currently he is the Senior Pastor of the Mt. Rubidoux SDA church in Southern California where he has the honor of leading an amazing community of believers as well as a Pastoral Staff (nicknamed the Avengers): Pastor Seth Yelorda- Executive Pastor, Pastor Marc Raphael- Children’s Pastor, Pastor Cliff Lim-Youth Pastor, and Dr. Curtis Fox- Pastoral Care. “I believe strongly in building and maintaining a cohesive leadership team. Mt. Rubidoux will only go as far as our team will allow it by working together to accomplish our Vision of creating a church that exists to Reach People Far from God, doing whatever it takes.”
Pastor Kelly has had the honor of traveling the globe preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has run a Revelation Seminar in the Philippines, which God blessed with 120 baptisms. He has also lead in several weeks of spiritual emphasis in England and in Kenya.
Pastor Kelly believes in a focused yet multi-dimensional ministry. Because of this Pastor Kelly has sought other avenues by which to bring the Kingdom to the community. One of which is through leadership training and team building for churches and businesses. Pastor Kelly is a certified trainer for the company Vital Smarts in the best seller Crucial Conversations, tools for talking when the stakes are high. He has taken this training along with others and has presented for Conferences, the North American Division, local churches as well as businesses and various companies throughout the US.
Pastor Kelly has been honored with various awards throughout his Pastoral Ministry. Some of which include The Central States SDA Conference and South Eastern California Conference publicly recognizing his outstanding success in new converts through effective evangelism. He has also been honored with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Trail Blazer Award for spiritual leadership and community service. Married to the former Tia Patrice Green, the couple has two daughters: Gihanna (9) and Genesis (7).
Pastor Paul Shongwe
Dr. Shongwe holds the following qualifications:
• BA Theology, Andrews University, Michigan, USA
• MA – Theological Studies, Andrews University, Michigan, USA);
• MA – Biblical Studies, Rand Afrikaans University; (Major: New Testament – Johannine Literature) and
• D. Litt. et Phil – Biblical Studies (Doctor of Literature and Philosophy), Rand Afrikaans University (Major: New Testament – Johannine Literature).
He is married to Portia Shongwe for 36 years and they have two grown up boys (Nkosinathi and Silindzile)
Dr. Shongwe is currently the President of Trans Orange Conference of Seventh Day Church, Johannesburg, South (Second Term).
Dr Shongwe spent one year as a missionary and Dean for the School of Theology and Religious Studies, Lecturer and Director for Development and Public Relations at Zambia Adventist University, Monze, Zambia.
He spent 27 years as a fulltime Pastor and 10 years as Part time Pastor while prying his trade as a Senior Manager in the Corporate world (Banking). In the Church he worked as a Pastor, Departmental Director, Administrator and Dean for the School of Theology at Rusangu Adventist University, Zambia.
He also served as Vice-President (in the fields of Development, Advancement, Public Relations, Marketing and Recruitment). Later he served as President of Helderberg College of Higher Learning in Somerset West, Cape Town and also served as President of Helderberg College Alumni Association;
Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Leadership of Adventist University of Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
Paul Shongwe has also been a Research Mentor for Project Papers of two Masters Students in Master of International Leadership Development (MIDP), Andrews University and also directed one student through a Doctor of Ministry Thesis, Adventist University of Africa, Nairobi, Kenya.
His experience in the corporate world was acquired at Standard Bank South Africa, Peoples Bank and Nedbank Group Corporate as worked as Social Responsibility Manager, Retail and Sales. He also served as Deputy Executive Chairman of Mobux Holdings
He served as a Trustee of the University of Port Elizabeth which was later renamed, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Dr. Shongwe is a Community Builder, Social and Business Entrepreneur, Educator, Director of Companies, and Motivational Speaker.
